Except the “small amounts” are getting bigger. And
the “safety” is a goddamn lie.
So I sat back down. Pulled out the papers. Took a
deep breath. And said to myself…
“I don’t care how hard this is. I’m going to
finish what he started.
And I’m going to save my family.”
It started in my garage.
No white coat. No fancy tools.
Just a busted Craftsman toolbox, a camping
lantern, and a stack of military blueprints soaked in
coffee stains and time.
The first few pages didn’t even make sense.
A diagram of a heat exchanger. A coil system
labeled “ADSORPTION PHASE” and
“CONDENSATE RETURN LINE.”
Numbers. Symbols. Stuff I hadn’t seen since high
school physics… If ever.
I wanted to quit. But I kept hearing my uncle’s voice
in my head…
“The simplest machines are always the most
powerful. If it works in a submarine under 3,000 feet
of water… It’ll work anywhere.”
So I made a plan.
Simplifying everything. Translating the schematics
into normal human English.
Page by page. One step at a time.
